Bueno, pues finalmente tras un largo periodo conseguimos reunirnos y jugar otra entrega de los fascículos.
Finally after a long period we came back to our Middle Earth Battle Game.
En este número, la compañía del anillo tendría que enfrentarse a los supuestos peligros de haber atravesado el paso de Rohan en vez de las minas de Moria. El principal problema es que en el puente del río Isen se encontrarían al mismísimo Sáruman que les estaría esperando.
This time, the fellowship would face the challenge of crossing Rohan instead of taking through the Moria Mines. The problem was the bridge on the Isen river was guarded by Saruman himself.
Además de Sáruman, dos partidas de Uruk Hai les perseguirían desde los flancos del tablero de juego.
Additionally, two Uruk Hai parties would be follow the heroes from the rear sides of the board.
Uno de los grupos de exploradores Uruk iba capitaneado por Lurtz
Lurtz was the leader on the first group.
En el otro lado de la mesa, un capitán Uruk Hai y Ugluk dirigirían el otro comando Uruk.
On the other side of the table, Ugluk and an Uruk Hai captain would command the rest of Uruk troops.
La partida estaba preparada. En el último encuentro Curro perdió la contienda, por lo que en esta ocasión elegía bando. El de la luz fue su elección.
La verdad, es que el mayor problema que nos enfrentamos en cada partida es que debido al lapso de tiempo entre una y otra, hemos olvidado la mayoría de las reglas. Lo que nos obliga a estar revisando los fascículos durante toda la partida.
The games was ready for beginning. In the last battle Curro was defeated, so this time he chose side. The fellowship was his choice.
The big problem we usually have every time we play is - because the long period between games - we almost forgot the rules, and that makes us to review the magazines constantly during the battle.
Su táctica principal fue usar a Legolas y Gimli para frenar a los dos grupos de Uruk, mientras que los rezagados hobbits avanzaban a paso corto y el resto de compañeros, de avanzadilla, intentaba hacerse cargo del grupo de Sáruman.
Curro's strategy was to use Legolas and Gimli to hold the Uruk Hai troops in the meantime the slow hobbits were moving forward. The rest of heroes would go in advance to face Saruman's band.
La magia de Sáruman no fue muy efectiva durante la partida, ya que la mayoría de las veces no conseguía sacar la puntuación necesaria para llevar a cabo con éxito el hechizo, y cuando sí lo hacía, el oponente usaba puntos de voluntad y conseguía evitar los efectos de este. Por lo menos, eso sí, sirvió para reducir los puntos de voluntad del bando de la luz.
Saruman's magic wasn't very effective during the game since the few times the dice got the required numbers the heroes avoided the spells using Will points. However that was making a great reduction on the pool of these.
El grupo de retaguardia no tuvo la efectividad esperada, y pasado tres o cuatro turnos se encontraba en serios problemas. Los uruk hai habían llegado al puente con muy pocas bajas.
On the rear-guard, Legolas and Gimli weren't very successful and after 3 or 4 turns they were in a real situation: The uruh hai reached the bridge without many casualties.
There was an extra disadvantaged for the fellowship. A bunch of uruk hai commanded by Ugluk was crossing the bridge on the alternative route and heading to Saruman's position as reinforcement.
Aragorn y Boromir mermaban el grupo de orcos de Moria, aunque no tan rápido como se esperaba de ellos.
Aragorn and Boromir were reducing the number of orcs but unfortunately not as fast as they should.
El bando de la oscuridad solo había conseguido derrotar a Legolas, sin embargo, y a pesar de empezar a reducirse su número, los continuos ataques agotaban la reserva de puntos de Poder, Voluntad y Destino de los héroes de la luz.
At this point Saruman's forces only had defeated Legolas despite increasing the number of casualties on them. The continuous attacks were reducing plenty of Power, Will, and Destiny points though.
En la imagen, un despreciable orco de Moria alcanzaba a Gandalf reduciéndole un punto de herida.
On the picture above, a mean moria orc managed to hit Gandalf and caused a wound on the wizard.
La compañía del anillo era rodeada y tras al menos cuatro turnos de lucha intensa el bando del mal terminaba con Frodo, poniendo fin a la partida.
The fellowship was finally surrounded, and after at least 4 turns of non-stop fight Saruman's forces terminated Frodo's life ending the game.
Menos mal que la compañía optó por el Paso de Moria, porque según parece, esta ruta alternativa les daría peor resultado.
Thank god (or the Istari of Valas or whoever) the fellowship chose to pass through Moria on the actual story.
